Falling temperatures make for frozen waterways. Now, of all times, the battery of the icebreaker goes on strike. Within a very short time, a new battery must be delivered and installed in the hull of the ship. Not a job for beginners.
Peak performance in the mountains
The Ramolhaus, a mountain hut in the Ötztal Alps, is located at 3,006 m above sea level. To secure the power supply in the “highest house in Hamburg”, new stationary battery storage units were to be installed in the building services. More than 2 tons of weight have to be transported up to the glacier tongue of the Gurgler Ferner.
Electric on the slopes
A snowmobile with a (foreign) lithium-ion battery system repeatedly shows significant temperature problems. The result is undesirably long downtimes in the supply of a hotel and restaurant at 2,222 meters above Zermatt in Switzerland. TRIATHLON is required to install a new battery system in the existing housing.
Up high: emission-free in the Alps
In Zermatt, Switzerland, at 1,600 meters above sea level, the average temperature is 6 °C. In January, the average temperature drops to -13.7 °C. In order to protect the ski paradise in the best possible way, the municipality has been relying on emission-free electric vehicles for years. The batteries must be correspondingly reliable.
