Comparison lead-acid with lithium-ion
Despite lower capacities compared to lead-acid, a Li-Ion battery can have the same energy content due to, among other things:
- Higher voltage
- Higher depth of discharge
- Higher efficiency
- Lower internal resistance
SIMPLIFIED:
Capacity lead = 2/3 capacity lithium
Example:
375 Ah lead-acid / 1.5 = 250 Ah lithium
